Lousy Robot is far from their demeaning band name, each one of LR’s high energy songs are filled with quirky lyrics, intricate harmonies, and pretty sick beats. The band’s already great music is interlaced with bittersweet lyrics, perfect in their own sense yet completely demented at the same time, the lyrics mirror feelings of fear, love and indecision.
Lousy Robot, founded in Albuquerque, New Mexico labels themselves as a Power Pop Indie Rock band. Founded in 2003, these guys have become a hometown favorite for Indie lovers, while they remain relatively underground, they have performed with other Indie favorites like the Shiny Toy Guns. If the band continues belting out albums and high energy songs, their already faithful cult will surely grow. The band has a distinct garage rock feel yet remaining classy and indie. with slow break downs and clear tasteful vocals.
The Lousy Robot makes you listen and want to sing along, at first you don’t know what they’re talking about, what they mean, and where they come from, but as you listen and absorb the art they call music you realize that you’ve known exactly what they meant the whole time.
