Childish Gambino Inspired Tribute to Rap
Rap is something you cant want to like, it’s a type of music that sets into your mind, forces you to listen to every component of a song. While many people claim rappers "just speak fast to a drum" their is no doubt that there is an art to pairing clever relevant and modern poetry to catchy beats. Rap feels like a large cult that most dabble in but never try to touch, with blows at the government, society, racism, poverty rap is political, sensual and unprocessed, it becomes a gateway, a raised fist to what free speech is all about. To me rap is intelligent, the use metaphors and similes spun with bass and infused with tampered with treble, constantly amazes me. Rappers have this leverage when it comes to their work, artists in their hearts and rebels in their heads, its no wonder how they’ve conquered hundreds of speakers everywhere.
This genre leaves you stranded and surrounded at the same time. To be able listen and appreciate rap for what it is, no glamour involved, to see a point of view so raw and uncut is electrifying for most. It’s all or nothing with rap and sometimes its nice to have it all.
