Skeye

Over the summer, free time lengthens along with the log ins to youtube, during one of my many music searches, I stumbled across a relatively new band, Skeye. Skyes music transcends the perfect blend of acoustic melodies and original tunes. Lindsey, who sings, has a very organic, fresh sound to her voice, she matches her partner, John's harmonic acoustic guitar strumming perfectly. While each band member represents almost their own melody the blend is irresistible and they leave you humming along to the simplistic lyrics that adorn most of their songs. Their music feels like afternoon tea, and the warm sun, Skeye's could never be considered catchy, however they catch on, they make sense, and with Johns impeccable guitar harmonies and Lindsey's warm voice, Skeye is a band to keep on your playlist. Taking on some of the most difficult artists, including Sia, Adele, and Radiohead  the duo get away with these covers no problem
While Skeye may not be the most "radio friendly" band, their poetry like lyrics and simple acoustics are sure to make it big, Skeye leaves you thinking, and remembering, and for me you can't ask for more in music.
John and Lindsey are currently working on their first album which is set to release this month. Skeye is on iTunes, Youtube, and Facebook, so check them out!
Fans of Sia, Florence and the Machine, Augustana, Porcupine Tree, Catherine Feeny, Regina Spektor.
